About
The Manchester Stake is one two stakes created on the same day, 27th Mar 1960. The first Stakes created outside of North America.
For the creation of the stake a Coat of arms was produced.
Based on the old city of Manchester arms it's blazon is thus.
On a field of gules (red) three or (gold) bars enhanced, symbolising unity.
Mounted argent (white) antelope symbolising stability.
On a field of azure (blue) a book of scripture signifying the Book of Mormon having been brought across the seas to our city.
The whole surmouted by the helm of Salvation symbolising purity and lion rampant symbolising strength.
Mantling signifying bounteous harvest in this part of the Lords vinyard.
